SharePoint Security: Managing, Auditing, and Monitoring

Webinar Registration

SharePoint is taking organizations by storm. In many organizations, teams and departments are independently implementing SharePoint functionality, without involvement from the central IT department. Critical information and business processes are rapidly migrating from more established technologies such as file servers and legacy applications.

But whenever a new technology is adopted as quickly and as organically as SharePoint has been, new risks can inadvertently be introduced. Information and processes can be exposed to these risks unless the organization’s SharePoint environment benefits from the same IT controls that are required for other, more-established technologies.

In this webinar, I will explain how the rapid adoption of SharePoint affects organizations in three major ways, which in turn give rise to multiple security- and management-related risks.

Furthermore, the native SharePoint environment includes gaps in management, audit, and monitoring functionality. These gaps increase costs and compromise organizations’ ability to secure critical information in SharePoint while remaining in compliance. I will show you SharePoint’s security gaps and how they impact an organization’s ability to fulfill security, audit and compliance requirements.

Finally I will share the results my commissioned study of how Quest’s Site Administrator for SharePoint solution addresses these issues and helps fill SharePoint’s gaps.  Please join me for this valuable analysis.
